LESSON FEES

  • Are paid to reserve the student's allotted time with our teachers.
  • Are to be paid in full and are due at your first lesson of each month for the entire month.
  • Are due regardless of absenteeism or tardiness with or without notification, although notice is kindly requested.
  • Are paid directly to the teacher. A mutually agreeable time will be allotted for your lesson, and as long as you are listed on the schedule, you are required to pay for that lesson time.
  • Start at $28.00 (half hour), $42.00 (45-minutes) and $55.00 (hour) and may vary according to the teacher.

THE CMA CALENDAR is based on 3 sessions:

  • Fall Session: September 8, 2009 through December 23, 2009
  • Spring Session: January 4 2010 thought June 27, 2010
  • Summer Session: June 28, 2010 through September 3, 2010

VACATION AND ABSENCE POLICY

  • Memorial Day, July 4th and Thanksgiving
  • CMA two(2) "Closing weeks" CMA is officially closed) are:
    1. The week of December 24, 2009 through January 3, 2010
    2. The week leading up to and including Labor Day; Lessons resume the Tuesday after Labor Day.
  • Please Note: The above "closing Weeks" vacation weeks are optional weeks for teachers: they may choose to teach during these weeks, however students are not obligated to attend/pay unless they opt to attend. Please speak with your teacher in advance re: their intentions.
  • Students are also entitled to two unpaid (2) vacation days/absences per year (September through June).
  • If you foresee extensive absences, please contact the teacher or office immediately. As long as you are on the schedule, you are required to pay for that allotted lesson time. Serious illness or injury to the student or serious emergency or death in the student's immediate family would be considered exceptions to the aforementioned policy.
  • Summer Session Lessons ONLY: During our Summer Session (June 28 through September 3, 2010) students are expected to continue their music studies for best results, as well as to reserve his/her space on the teacher's yearly schedule. For a smooth transition we ask that you speak with your teacher in early June to arrange your schedule for this summer session. Once the vacation schedule is agreed upon with your teacher, you must give the teacher a 48-hour cancellation notice in advance if your schedule changes. The teacher will try to make up the lesson if his/her schedule permits; but payment for this advanced-scheduled lesson will be due to the teacher regardless of makeup.

MAKE-UP LESSONS FOR STUDENT ABSENCES

  • Will be given at the teacher's discretion and are dependent upon the teacher's schedule and/or availability.
  • We ask that at least 24 hours notice be given to the office for canceled lessons. Last minute cancellations or "no shows" by the student are seriously discouraged. In such a case, the teacher may use his/her judgment to determine if a makeup lesson will be offered.
  • Teachers are required to make-up two missed lessons per year from September through June, per student. Once student absences exceed the two allotted make-up lessons, all missed lessons must be paid for, regardless of whether the teacher is able to schedule a make-up.
  • Cancellation or absenteeism of a make-up lesson will not be rescheduled.

MAKE-UP LESSONS FOR TEACHER ABSENCES

  • Lessons will be rescheduled at a time convenient for both the teacher and the student within the reasonable future. If a make-up lesson with the teacher cannot be coordinated, a credit will be issued to the student.
  • If the teacher anticipates a number of absences (some teachers travel for performances, etc.), he/she will obtain a substitute for those weeks.
  • The substitute will be equally qualified and appropriate for that teacher's studio. If the student chooses not to study with the substitute, they will be credited for those lessons.

INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
If the weather is extremely severe, please call the school. A message will be on the voicemail advising of the school closing, if necessary. In these instances, students will be credited for the lesson unless, of course, the student and teacher can reschedule the lesson. As long as the school is open and the teacher is in, the student is expected to attend the lesson.

PERMANENT WITHDRAWAL FROM LESSONS

  • Two weeks noticed is required. Student is responsible for payment for any lessons missed without this notice.
  • The School reserves the right to dismiss students for failure to adhere to school policy.
